Toni Braxton - Rock Me, Roll Me
I started listening to Toni Braxton after I saw her video for Un-Break My Heart, which can be found here. I was touched and mesmerized by her voice, which is a contralto, similar to Fiona Apple and Rachael Yamagata, and the songs she sang. Toni’s career spans over a decade with her selling about forty millions records worldwide. She’s a wonderful R&B singer and if you haven’t already, I highly suggest giving her a listen. Currently, Toni is working on her sixth studio album, which is rumored to be released some time this year.
Because Toni has so much songs, I had a hard time finding a song to share. I decided I should pick a song that’s underrated and not familiar with many people, so I settled on Rock Me, Roll Me, coming off her fourth studio album, More Than a Woman. It’s a great song that has Toni Braxton essentially giving advice to everyone who has a hard a time with a woman. Toni is saying, “Yeah, she may be insecure, she may be stubborn, hard-headed, maybe even uncontrollable, but she’s a woman and when it comes right down to it, all she wants is to be loved.” Enjoy.
