I was looking up various rock bands when I came across a genre of rock I wasn’t familiar with, or was familiar with, but hadn’t known the name for: Math Rock. Wikipedia (in this case, Wikipedia is useful) describes it as, “A rhythmically complex, guitar-based style of experimental rock.” Of course, seeing an example of something is always a better way of understanding, so here’s a video of a guy, Ian James, explaining what math rock is. I came across this video when I googled math rock and Ian does a great job of explaining what it is. Also, Wikipedia has a list of bands whose style encompasses math rock, which can be found here. Enjoy :)
