Kings of Convenience- Summer on the Westhill
these guys make quality music. i don’t remember how i found them, but i am happy i did. they have a mellow sound. most of what i’ve heard is gentle, acoustic, norwegian (i have to expand team sweden to include these guys. i’ll call it…team nordic!) goodness. were i to classify them, i’d call them slightly-folksy-easy-listening artists. they’d probably disagree with that, but i’ve got the blog! there are some caveats to that statement. they make good music, yes, but it can be a bit repetetive. it’s rare that i strap myself in for an immersive experience when i listen to their albums. i prefer to listen to them when i’m in specific moods. the music is a bit slow and it varies only a little (warning: that statement is opinion only) from song to song. but, i like what they do, and i recommend them highly. i hope you enjoy the song.
From my seat I see the fields move by,
coulours strong- it’s been a long, long time.
It’s the first time I see Summer on the Westhill.
I lean back and let my eyes just go
floating now where they want to float.
They seem to take to the horizon.
Now I know there is a world beyond
the small place I was coming from.
I feel at home here
in the middle of nowhere.
I will never know the names
of these places that I travel through
to reach the coastline.
I’ve been told I will be there in time.
