you ever notice how sometimes you like a song more because of an experience associated with it than the actual song itself? i can’t help but smile everytime i hear this…. i was at work and a group of us were all listening to the radio. i wasn’t paying particular attention to the song because i was, y’know, working. as the track was ending i caught a glimpse of something that puzzled me. so i asked my co-workers, ‘so, he’s a doctor. why won’t they let him out?’ after the laughter ended i was informed that he was ‘locked up’ and not, in fact, a doctor. i still pretend he’s saying it my way whenever i hear this. makes the verses have a different vibe.
