Who here loves Footloose? MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (raises both hands in the air)
One of the first movies I can recall watching as a kid is Footloose. Well…that and The Princess Bride (also love it love it love it). But Footloose has remained one of my favorite movies over the years. The Kevin Bacon-ness, the music, the drama, the 80s hair - what is there not to love?!?!
Never is the song that no one seems to know anything about until Ren (Bacon) starts dancing to it in the warehouse scene. Wanna know a secret - I use to dance with Ren (the parts I COULD do) everytime I watched the movie. I still do. No more leaping and bounding across the living room for me but looket my arms go!
Paramount Studios is actually in the process of doing a remake of this movie. I’m not too fond of the idea and was actually a lil giddy when I heard Zac Efron walked away from the lead role. Shouldn’t there be a minimum wait before redoing a classic? Like…when the lead actors are dead or something? Ugh.
Well…we’ll see what happens. Maybe they’ll bail on the project (fingers crossed). Until then, enjoy some classic 80s rock!
