Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Royce da 5’9”, Joell Ortiz, & Crooked I)- Move On

usually when ‘supergroups’ are created, it is in an effort to save something. think of the justice league. they formed to save earth and whatever else needed saving from the powers of evil. well, these guys got together to save their favorite genre: hip hop. now one could also argue they formed to bolster their respective careers, but that would be small, wouldn’t it? each of these guys prefers to make lyrics-centered music and has a reputation for being true to the spirit of hip hop. these guys are also united in their relative obscurity. joe got a little shine for his single ‘pump it up’ a few years ago and royce got a little for his relationship with eminem. beyond that, though, these guys are known mostly to hip hops fans (that may or may not be as true as it seems to me; i don’t claim to be an expert). it’s funny that royce and joe actually had ‘beef’ for a moment. all that has been put aside now, though, and they are united to save hip-hop from….soulja boy, i guess. i’m not sure. no matter the motivation, they make good music. this isn’t my favorite slaughterhouse song, but it’s the only one i found a video for. i thought you should see these guys in action. enjoy.
