Oasis- Falling Down

i heard this song a month or so ago when i began watching a series called ‘east of eden.’ i’m not sure who was responsible for selecting ‘falling down’ as the opening theme, but they deserve a bonus. it really sets thet tone for the series. i like it because it’s such a stark contrast with the tone of the series…well, the first few episodes. on one hand you have a moody, rich, and layered song, and on the other you have a flippant, outgoing young protagonist who shows up naked outside the white house.

the video is interesting because it seems to be a critique of the royal family. if memory serves, a commenter said it is a direct statement about princess diana. i’m not sure if that’s true, and, frankly, i’m not curious enough to investigate the matter. i’m fine with it the way it is. enjoy.
