Between the Buried and Me- Informal Gluttony

so let me get this out of the way first. 1. i don’t generally like the deep, guttural screaming vocal style. 2. i don’t generally like the ‘play as many notes as you can in a measure’ style. with that said, i still dig this band. they are constantly changing up the rhythms and time signatures (i don’t even attempt to count out this stuff). so don’t get too attached to any particular riff because it will be unlikely to re-appear in any other part of the song. now amidst this chaos, these guys throw in a ‘sweet’ part at about 2:45 and 5:05. i always picture an ocean wave when that part comes on. it’s very soothing to the ears after all that madness. like cleansing the palate.
