Harlem Boys Choir - Carol of the Bells

I don’t really give a fart that its August…I wanted to listen to Carol of the Bells today. The song makes me happy. Damn happy. And who better to perform it then the Harlem Boys Choir.

I love the four parts intertwining and coming together only to seperate again. I love the rise and fall of the voices that mirrors the way the sound of a ringing bell getting absorbed into itself for a moment. I love the crescendo as the voices culminating to sing “Merry Merry Merry Merry Christmas.”

Yup - I love everything about this song. It makes my happy. Definitely need a lil happiness today. Enjoy Christmas in late July (so late its August!) today!

ps - did you know that this song is of Ukranian origins? Yup - premiered in 1916 at Kiev University. Go Team Ukraine! And Go Team Harlem!

Harlem Boys Choir - Carol of the Bells

Hark how the bells,
sweet silver bells,
all seem to say,
throw cares away

Christmas is here,
bringing good cheer,
to young and old,
meek and the bold,

Oh how they pound,
raising the sound,
o’er hill and dale,
telling their tale,

Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here,

Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
On on they send ,
on without end,
their joyful tone to every home
Dong Ding dong ding, dong Bong
