Mew- The Zookeeper’s Boy

i was flipping through the radio one day and landed on this song. my hand was still on the dial when i thought i heard him say something about a giraffe. ‘hold up, did he just say giraffe in a song? —- wait…ostrich too? what the hell is this?’ so i cranked it up way too loud and was blow away by this band. crazy, contrasting guitar/bass/drum rhythms, an overload of multi-layered background vocals, falsetto lead vocals and zoo animals? who would’ve guessed that was the perfect combo. i don’t think i even went an hour before i made it to the store to get this disc. pure gold, people. i think it’s funny that their album cover looks like they should be in some kind of death-metal band.
