Rachael Yamagata - I Wish You Love
Hmmmm…I love this song. It’s one of those songs thats bittersweet and realistic and charming and grand. Sometimes you are just not meant to be with someone. Period. They can be great. They can get you. They can have 110% potential.
They can also live 3000 miles away. Or have major emotional damage. Or be in a different place in their lives.
My boyfriend is known for telling people “The right person at the wrong time is still the wrong person.” The first time I heard him say this to someone it struck me as profound and oh so true.
So this song is dedicated to letting people go. To realizing that sometimes “the one” isn’t the one for you. And to doing it amiably. Because even if it hurts like a sonovabitch to let them go, sometimes it is simply the right thing to do. And hopefully, if you ever cross that path, then you can do it with Rachael’s grace - wishing them the best and actually meaning it.
Enjoy!

Rachael Yamagata - I Wish You Love
I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love
And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love
My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So with my best
My very best
I set you free
I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love
I wish you love
I wish you love, love, love, love, love
I wish you love
