Beanie Sigel feat. Young Chris, & Freeway- Ready for War

why don’t we get gangsta for a minute. i really like this song. i guess it’s natural seeng that i’m a fan of each of these guys. they all bring something special to the table. unfortunately, at this point these guys aren’t getting the buzz they and many others feel they deserve. they each had some shine while with the roc (i think chris still claims to be a part of the roc now, if there is such a thing), but based on interviews i’ve heard them give, things didn’t go well. it’s a shame because these guys are good. as i said before, i sometimes feel guilty for listening to stuff that’s so profane and so violent (i feel the same way when i listen to ‘stagger lee’ by nick cave & the bad seeds), but when done well, as with any genre, the music is undeniable. i love reasonable doubt, i love mobb deep’s first few albums, i love ready to die, and so on. i can’t claim these guys are at that level, but they’re really good. they each went in on this track. the verses are on point, the beat is nice, and only a few people died. how could you ask for more? enjoy.
