Big L: Put it On

lamont coleman is yet another talented artist who died before really enjoying his success. it’s unfortunate because he was an extremely talented person. his flow was incredible, he was versatile, he was charismatic, and he was a great lyricist. i listened to a radio interview he did just before his album came out where he talked about representing harlem in hip-hop, and how he managed to get on. he seemed excited about the album and his pending (hopefully) success. who knows what would have happened if he remained alive, but the music he left behind suggests he would have been huge. check out this ‘freestyle’ session he did with jay-z back in the day. it’s great stuff. enjoy.
