Rage Against the Machine- Maria

this takes me back to high school and a young man i mentioned in a previous post. this is yet another group i heard for the first time while riding to school with a friend of mine in high school. he didn’t have as much trouble convincing me to like this as he did with the smashing pumpkins, though (strangely, i’m a much bigger fan of the pumpkins than of ratm and have been for a long time). i used to like it when he’d throw any of their albums in. i think together we wore ‘evil empire’ and ‘rage against the machine’ down to little plastic niblets. this song was featured on the album ‘the battle of los angeles.’ my fandom had dissipated somewhat when it came out, but i still had to have it. i’m happy i got it for songs like this one. i have to say something about them. whenever i listen to them, i am reminded that you can make music with a message without being overly pedantic. i mean, they can be a bit overbearing at times, but i don’t feel as though i’m being coddled. as always, i hope you all enjoy the song.
