Graham Central Station - The Jam

So someone asked for sunshine and this is my funky interpretation of sunshine.  This song is about absolutely nothing.  It’s simply an introduction to a bad ass funk band where all the members introduce you to their own style of playing.  Graham Central Station was started by Larry Graham, Sly & the Family Stone’s former bassist, Neal Schon a guitarist in Santanta, and Greg Errico also from Sly & the Family Stone.  So with that lineup you know they can play.  Whenever I hear this song I always picture Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem playing it, probably because my dad used to listen to it all the time while I was a kid and I was obsessed with all things muppet related.  I just pictured them wildin out while playing this.

One other sidenote, you can blame or praise Larry Graham for Prince becoming a Jehovah’s Witness… take that how you want it, but look forward to further posts.
