we live in a global world. cultural information is transmitted from one side of the world to another more and more rapidly. this song is an example of that. ‘after the rain’ is all about soul, and singer yukimi nagano shows that she has as much of it as any person on the planet. nagano and her bandmates have created an absolute gem. who’d have thought the swedes could get down like that? nagano brings that soulful element to other songs on little dragon’s eponymous debut. if you like this song, you should check out ‘twice’ and ‘constant surprises.’

jay - i can’t say enough about little dragon and their vocalist yukimi nagano. i was actually about to post a little dragon song today until the skinny miracle hit me up. to add on to what he said above check out the song ‘test,’ which immediately put me in anticipation mode back in the summer of 2007. the bass line and her soulful voice knocked me out. also check out her work with Koop on songs such as ‘i see a different you’ and ‘summer sun’ enjoy.
