Goodie Mob feat Backbone- I Refuse Limitation

can you say slept on? to me, this is one of the greatest hip-hop songs few people have heard, and it contains one of the greatest verses ever written. the rhymes are substantive, the beat is nice, the hook is great…and there is cee-lo. now, goodie fans know that cee-lo held it down on virtually every song. it didn’t matter who you put on the song with him and the other mob members, cee-lo would shine. to me, he’s one of the best mc’s in the game. hands down. i don’t mean to slight the other members of goodie mob nor backbone, the guest artist who appears on the song. everyone got their little something in there (although i still don’t know what gipp is talking about). it’s just that there is not getting around cee-lo’s verse. he absolutely beasted this song. i haven’t heard someone get off on a track like this in a while. the only instances that come to mind are mos def on ‘thieves in the night’ and bun b on ‘murder.’ i’m sure there are other examples of someone blackin’ out on a song, but i doubt they top this one. they say cee-lo used to perform with dre when big boi had to work. he was pretty much the third member of outkast. now imagine if that situation had worked out just a little differently… i wanted to include the lyrics but i got frustrated trying to find a site that got them correct. just listen. -the skinny miracle
