Kanye West - Paranoid

- Exhibiting or characterized by extreme and irrational fear or distrust of others

(via looeeesuh)

kanye & the revolution, kanye funkadelic, kanye to the future.  i saw this picture on the tumblelog above and i had to post paranoid off of 808 & heartbreaks.  i wasn’t really a fan of the album, but kanye is still one of my favorite artists and this song knocks.  taz from sa-ra’s outfit not so much, but… i bang with sa-ra also.

paranoid is my song, it’s throw back new wave without being wack.  the autotune is not overdone like every other song i hear on southern radio.  and the song is fun and danceable.  one thing you’ll probably see in a lot of posts is that i love uptempo music that you can dance to.

i also like fun songs that speak about issues that are opposite of their tone.  hey ya is a good modern day example and stevie wonder was the king of this.  there are tons of stevie wonder songs that i, along with many other people, thought (still think) are simple love ballads, but are really about relationshits.

paranoid takes me back to a woman i was dealing with for a little under a year.  we both acted completely stupid.  i pushed and pushed for us to be together and grow together, while she continued to say in words that she wanted us to break up.  the key part about that was it was only words, inside she wanted us to be together.  she did this due to feelings of her own inadequacy and belief that we were too different.  she said i was too good for her, when i liked her for who she was and thought highly of her.  this paranoia drove me mad and destroyed a relationship and even worse a friendship.  this song reminds me a lot of many nights we were together and i tried to console and talk through things and then as corny as it sounds do what the song says “Baby don’t worry about it/Lady we’ll go out to the floor,” and try to go out dancing to make her smile.

Why are you so paranoid?
Don’t be so paranoid
Don’t be so

Baby, don’t worry about it
Hey there, don’t even think about it

You worry bout the wrong things, the wrong things
You worry bout the wrong things, the wrong things
You worry bout the wrong things, the wrong things
You worry bout the wrong things, the wrong things

Tell me right now, you really wanna spend your whole life alone
A little timeout might might do you good might do us good before we meet up for good
Cuz I can make it good, I can make it hood, I can make you come, I can make you go
I can make you make you high, I can make you fly, I can make you touch the sky hey baby so,
all of of the time you be up in my checking through my cell phone baby , no
you wanna kill the vibe on another night, here’s another fight oh here we go

Baby, don’t worry bout it
Lady, we’ll go out to the floor

Anyway, they don’t know you like I do (They don’t know)
They’ll never know you (Never know)
Anyway, they don’t know you like I do (Never know)
They’ll never know you

All of the time, you wanna complain about the nights alone
So now, you here with me, social gratitude, leave the attitude way back at home
Yeah, you see ‘em look, baby, let ‘em look, give you cold looks cuz we look cold
Yeah, you heard about all the word of mouth, don’t worry about what we can’t control
All the talk in the world, loss in the world ‘till you finally let that thing go
You wanna check-in to the heartbreak hotel but sorry we’re closed

Baby, don’t worry bout it
Baby, we’ll go out to the floor

Anyway, they don’t know you like I do (To the floor)
They’ll never know you (Never know)
Anyway, they don’t know you like I do (They don’t know)
They’ll never know you

Baby, don’t worry ‘bout it
Lady, don’t even think about it

You worry bout the wrong things, the wrong thing
You worry bout the wrong thing, the wrong thing
You worry bout the wrong thing, the wrong thing
You worry bout the wrong thing…

Anyway, they don’t know you like I do
They’ll never know you
Anyway, they don’t know you like I do
They’ll never know you
