Joshua Radin - Brand New Day

Joshua Radin

I heard this song for the first time last night while I was watching TV…playing in the background of a show that had been languishing in my DVR for sometime…aching to be viewed.

Well, the episode was aiiiiight but this song caught me off guard. Perhaps I was meant to hear it as I was talking to Schwing on AIM about what I wanted to post this week. My ears were primed to receive a lil bit of inspiration it seems.

The song is simple and pretty and has a pleasant melody that I’m sure will be stuck in my head by today’s end. And I’m also pretty sure I will be scouring for more Radin tracks, hoping that they live up to the standard this song has set for me. I’ll let you know the verdict.

On a mushier note, I think it pretty well describes how I feel of late. Its a brand new day people. The sun is shining. For the first time in such a long long time, I know I’ll be ok : )

So honey, this song is for you. You make it a lot easier to be optimistic, to be thankful and to have a “brand new day” mentality (even when things are not going according to plan).

Joshua Radin - Brand New Day

Some kind of magic
Happens late at night
When the moon smiles down on me
And bathes me in it’s light

I fell asleep beneath you
In the tall blades of grass
When I woke the world was new
I never had to ask

CHORUS
It’s a brand new day
The sun is shinning
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
In such a long long time
I know I’ll be ok

Most kind of stories
Save the best part for last
Most stories have a hero who finds
You make your past your past
Ya you make your past your past

CHORUS

This cycle never ends
Gotta fall in order to mend

CHORUS
