my fellow crack staffer schwing put me onto blonde redhead two years ago. i’d heard of them before but had never heard their music. this is the first song i listened to, and it is one of my favorites. it’s funny because i prefer other songs to this one, but i’ve chosen to post it instead of the others. that’s an interesting habit of mine. i tend to post songs i like, but not my favorite songs. i can’t decide whether i feel some of these songs more accessible than the others, or if i feel a theme developing here on the blog. neither option satisfies, so i’ll do something about it in upcoming posts.
but back to the song. truth be told, this song is fairly accessbile and it is catchy. in truth i feel it is a song that doesn’t lend itself to analysis. it’s one that you can feel free to simply enjoy. if you like this, you should check out the album (also called 23). if you like that, perhaps you should look at my favorite redhead album, misery is a butterfly.
