Alamo Race Track- Black Cat John Brown
‘black cat john brown’ is a fun song by the dutch band alamo race track. it’s got a bouncy rhythm and simple, playful lyrics. it practically begs you to tap your foot or dance around a bit (don’t resist!). i do have a problem with it. i hate the ahhhhh ahhhh ahh ahhhh nonsense that begins almost two minutes in. i wish they had omitted that. they get such a nice vibe going at the beginning of the song, then they ruin it. i wish the song had continued to build, then de-evolved into a big funky mess near the end. had i been in the studio when they wrote this song, i may have set the building on fire when they proposed adding that in. ”hey, guys. let’s sing ‘ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’ in the middle of song! it’ll be awseome!” ugh.
whatever. it’s still a great song despite ahhhhh-gate. it always brightens my mood a bit when i hear it; i hope it does the same for you. enjoy.
Black cat John Brown, your time will come
Big yellow eyes, full moon is rising
Black cat John Brown, your time will come
Windows and fences, you’ll take no risk
You catch the world, big open eyes
You catch some berries from trees that reach the sky
You’ll get older, you can’t catch time
You’ll have a good life and then you’ll die
Black cat John Brown, your time will come
Big yellow eyes, full moon is rising
Black cat John Brown, your time will come
Windows and fences, you’ll take no risk
