Chin Chin - Go There With You (Radio Edit)

CHIN CHIN

Chin Chin is the lone funky-party-rock band on Definitive Jux’s roster of underground rappers and they have one request. They want to go there with you. Where you ask? I think you know.

I can’t help but feel that if the Ladies’ Man were a real guy, he would play Chin Chin to seduce lonely housewives on his houseboat. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that when I first heard the song I thought the opening verse was a Sade sample. I’m better than that but this is still a catchy tune, with or without Sade. The horns are great. The lyrics are simple and catchy. Every time I hear this song and a lady’s around I get this uncontrollable urge to bite my lower lip and awkwardly sway back and forth while gyrating. I think it’s the instinctual mating dance of pale white guys. Recently, I had to turn down the opportunity for an internship with Def Jux because of the current economic situation (Being a bitch-boy and getting coffee doesn’t pay student loans. Good looks George W. for taking that opportunity away from me.) So just think, I could be standing in front of a bar in Williamsburg right now with a terrible mustache handing out Chin Chin flyers dressed in a corduroy suit. Oh, how I have been forsaken. Enjoy.
