Anthony Hamilton - Pass Me Over

anthony hamilton

This post is in honor of the concert that I will be attending this weekend. The city of Miami Gardens (the city where Dolphin Stadium is located) is hosting their 4th annual Jazz in the Gardens concert series. Your girl will be there on Saturday getting down with Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Badu, and Common! There will be other acts there during the day, but my guy Anthony is the reason I’m hitting the Saturday show (Sunday line up WASSSSSSS tempting tho).

First time I heard Anthony Hamilton I was in NC driving on a country road when “Can’t Let Go” came on the radio. As a native son of North Carolina, they crank him on the radio ALL the time. I was instantly hooked and listened to the song on repeat for months. His CD “Ain’t Nobody Worrying” did not dissappoint either. Southern Stuff, Truth, Sista Big Bone - don’t get me started! I love the man. Anthony Hamilton has that southern down home perspective that you don’t really hear crooned out enough nowadays. Apparently, since I’m from LA, its supposed to be something I can’t appreciate since I always seem to get the “what you know bout some Anthony Hamilton” when people hear me singing a song.

Well THIS is what I know bout some Anthony Hamilton - I get to watch him work his magic on Saturday : D

Enjoy!

Anthony Hamilton - Pass Me Over

Another day
Chance to make another chance
A fragile place
Running on empty
A smile so faint
Barely even breaks the space
World’s on shoulders now

Don’t be afraid
He who knows will make a way
His word alone is what has kept me
Born the Son, King of eternal peace
Lay your burdens down

Chorus
If you catch me dreaming
Please don’t wake me till I’m done
Just leave me sleeping
Until the morning comes
Just pass me over
Make believe that I’m not there
Just leave me be
Until the Savior comes

Another night
Makes a way to the morn
Sleep in peace, joy come early
A club foot child, steps away victorious
Salvation holds joy for all of us

Chorus (2x)

Musical interlude

Chorus (8x)
