Doves- Almost Forgot Myself
i ran across these blokes a few years ago. a friend of mine kept telling me about them. at the time, he had their albums in heavy rotation, so he was always willing to share information about them (over and over and over again). he was the equivalent of a jehovah’s witness for the band. “check out that doves joint.” “yo, i’m real heavy on that doves joint right now!” scary. i gave in and checked them out. it turns out they are worth the crazy proseltyzing he did. i really dig their sound. it’s melodic, complex, and catchy. i think this song has all of those characteristics. there’s a nice rhythm to it, the music is dynamic, and it’s easy to sing along to. this is yet another instance where i’m not posting my favorite song of a particular band, but this song is good nontheless. enjoy.
