Fever Ray - When I grow Up

Fever Ray is a side project and name of Karin Dreijer Andersson, lead vocalist for The Knife, an eletronic duo (a post about The Knife can be found here). She sounds very similar to Bjork and if I’m not mistaken, both women come from the same place, Iceland. A friend recommended that I watch this music video for Fever Ray’s single When I Grow Up and it was a pleasant surprise when I actually liked it. Here is someone’s interpretation of the video, which I think is pretty accurate, posted as a comment on YouTube:

The mysterious girl is the old guy’s vision of himself when he was young and full of dreams about what to do when he grows up. She symbolizes standing on the edge (hence the diving board) but never jumping in. A melancholy vision of lost youth, with slight sexual overtones for those sensitive to them

Enjoy :)
