I heard All Night Long before, but I never knew who sang it. I had always assumed only one woman sang the song and the other voices were just backup singers. It wasn’t until a few days ago when a friend of the family’s came over and started watching random YouTube videos and this video came up, that I discovered a group of women was actually behind the song and that they were called Mary Jane Girls. Watching the video made me like the song way more. I just loved the 1980’s throwback atmosphere and the group’s dominating and sensual presence. Just look at the guy dancing half naked in the cage, suggesting the women are the ones who is in charge. The topic of the song emphasizes all of this, which is about sex, but the song’s true nature is hidden so carefully behind the addictive rhythm and beat and catchy hook that it’s easy to miss it.
