Prodigy- Take it to the Top

this song was featured on ‘return of the mac,’ a mixtape (album) prodigy did with alchemist. prodigy hasn’t been the prodigy from mobb deep for a while now, but, as usual, al got the best from p. it isn’t vintage, but it’s good. enjoy.

Pill- Trap Goin’ Ham

i have a soft spot in my heart for music like this. you’re supposed to turn this on and run around hitting people. if you haven’ done it, you should try it. do it at work with your co-workers. do it in class with your classmates. try it in the lord’s house when you go to get your jesus on. i’m telling you, shawty. crunk makes everything better. OK DENNN!

Rich Kidz - Patna Dem (Mad Decent Patna’s remix by DJA)

living in atlanta provides you with a continuous onslaught of hood rap.  some makes it out of the city, some gets stuck as atl one hit classics.  patna dem came out earlier this year and took over.  i’ve been here for almost 10 years and i still need translation for some of the stuff these kids say.

flashback: i remember when souljah boi first came out.  i was watching tv one’s roots marathon.  i got up to go get some food and uncharacteristically decided to turn on the radio.  when i heard the lyrics “soljah boi up in des do wa me crank dat wa me do, why me yooooouu… why me yoooooou…” i became upset that kizzy, kunta, and dem were speaking better english then atlanta teens.

anyway back to patna dem, i still don’t quite understand the song, they shout out a lot of different neighborhoods then start shouting out other stuff such as “true religion” so who knows.  this remix though makes the song for me, hood and electronic.  also ironically is done by artists in the two places i call home, atl and philly.  if you enjoy this go get the FREE ATL Remix album from Adult Swim
