yes another blu & exile song, but really why not. i picked the album back up when michi posted so(ul) amazing and was blown away like when i first heard it. 5 mic album (well after i take out juice n’ drank, which really doesn’t go with everything else). the thing that is so appealing to me about blu is his honesty and sincerity when he rhymes. so many rappers front on the mic and with their identity. blu is really as real as it gets. no high siding, no acting more indie, more hipster, more gangsta, more nothing. he’s just blu.
the song above is ‘no greater love,’ which features beautiful production by exile with a tight smokey robinson sample. blu’s lyrics capture you in a story his real personal loving relationship. the story is excellent. when i think about some other hip hop songs along the same line the comparison is almost laughable. so if you haven’t yet please pick up blu & exile’s - below the heavens and watch this guys career continue to grow
